Normalizing Audio
The WireTap Studio editor can be used to normalize audio, meaning set the levels so the highest peak reaches a certain level - either to avoid distortion or set the volume to match another audio source.
If more than one source is recorded, there will be separate sliders for each channel on each side of the waveform window.
To normalize audio:
- Select a recording in the library and click on the Edit button, or simply double click the file.
NOTE: To edit a file not recorded by WireTap Studio go to the File menu and select Open... - Click and drag on the Normalize sliders on the side of the waveform window to increase or decrease volume.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
